Dental Fillings
Broken or bruised teeth, color changes and similar changes create an unpleasant appearance. The filling process, which is applied especially in cases such as fractures or caries, does not look aesthetically pleasing because it causes the tooth to have a different color from its natural color. Today, aesthetic dental filling, which is applied to eliminate aesthetic concerns, is an extremely effective method.
What is Aesthetic Tooth Filling?
In the aesthetic dental filling, also called composite filling, the color of the filling is adjusted according to the patient's own tooth color, and thus a very natural appearance is obtained. The fact that the filling material used is almost the same shade as the tooth enamel makes it almost impossible to distinguish the filling from natural tooth enamel.
Aesthetic tooth filling can be applied to both anterior and posterior teeth. This filling method is the first choice of many patients who are afraid of the ugly appearance that may occur.
How Is Aesthetic Tooth Filling Made?
The steps followed while making an aesthetic tooth filling are as follows:
- Local anesthesia is applied to the area where the procedure will be performed,
- The decayed tooth tissue is cleaned and a cavity is opened,
- Beveling is done to ensure that the filling bonds more strongly to the tooth tissue,
- In order to reduce the sensitivity of the nerves in the pulp, materials that will reduce pain transmission are placed in the gap opened in the tooth,
- In case the decay reaches the side walls of the tooth, the filling mold can be used to prevent the filling from overflowing and to form it properly,
- Knee surface is made rough with an acidic material, thus better bonding is achieved,
